A prolific artist, writer, and teacher, Paul Klee (German, b. Switzerland, 1879–1940) was a distinctive force in 20th-century art. He made playful, inventive works characterized by a highly individual style of abstracted forms and symbols. The design on this stylish silk pocket square celebrates May Picture (1925), a painting on cardboard in the Museum’s collection of modern and contemporary art.
